Col Needham is an England-based businessman known to be the founder of Internet Movie Database (IMDb). In 1998, Amazon.com acquired IMDb and since then, he has served as IMDb's general manager. He is the current chief executive officer of IMDb.

While working for Hewlett-Packard (HP) as an engineer, Colin Needham started working on IMDb. In 1996, he left HP to work for IMDb as a paid full-time employee. Three years later, IMDb won two Webby Awards.

Colin Needham was born on January 26, 1967 in Manchester, England. He is a graduate of University of Leeds with a degree in Computer Science. Currently based in England, Needham is living with Karen whom he married in 1989. The couple has twin daughters.
