Prior to his current position, Chung Eui-Sun has served various top management posts in the company. From 1994 through 1999, he served as the Deputy Manager of Hyundai Precision and Industries Ltd. He then became the Director of Hyundai Procurement Planning & Coordination Group from 1999 through 2001.

He has also worked as the Deputy Operating Office of Hyundai Information Technology Center, Hyundai-Kia After-Sales Service Division, and Hyundai Motor's Domestic Sales & Marketing Division. From 2003 through 2005, served as the Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai-Kia Corporate Planning Division. From 2005 through 2009, he served as Kia Motors Corp's president which is a Hyundai Motor subsidiary. Since 2009, he has been serving as the Vice Chairman of Hyundai Motor Company Sales & Planning.
