Currently, Chey Tae-Won heads SK Corporation which is considered as South Korea's third largest conglomerate which holds interests in various fields such as telecom, chemicals and energy.

Chey Tae-Won was born on December 3, 1960 in Suwon, Gyeongi Province, South Korea. He is a graduate of Korea University. Currently based in Seoul, Tae-Won is married to Roh So-young with whom he has three children.

In December 2012, he resigned as the Chairman of SK Corporation before he was convicted of embezzling $43 million. He is to serve four years of imprisonment. In 2003, he was imprisoned for 7 months due to accounting fraud but he was pardoned.
