He is an Argentine businessman who is prominent in the country’s energy sector. Born on March 9, 1945 in Rufino, Santa Fe, Argentina, his mother is Spanish while his father is Italian. He was a graduate of the University of Buenos Aires Law School where he earned a juris doctor in 1970.

Carlos Bulgheroni joined the Bridas Corporation, an independent oil and gas holding company founded by the Bulgheroni family in 1948. He was named president and chairman in 1993. He became the president of Pan American Energy in 1997, the Allis-Chalmers’ energy unit in 2006, and of Energy Developments and Investments Corporation (EDIC), a company that specializes in the exploration and production of oil and gas in the North African, Russian, Central Asian, and Middle and Far Eastern markets. He was also involved in 1997 during a negotiation between Bridas and the ruling Taliban faction in Afghanistan to build the Afghanistan Pipeline from Turkmenistan to Pakistan.

Bulgheroni is also a member of the International Council of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS-Washington), the International Committee of The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the Executive Board of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC-Paris). He is a member of the Argentine Council for International Relations (CARI), Bolsa de Comercio de Buenos Aires, the Foundation for Latin American Economic Research (FIEL), Fundacion Mediterranea, the Peres Center for Peace, the Argentine Russian Business Council and the Fundacion Teatro Colon where he is also the founder.
