German businessman Bernard Broermann has an estimated net worth of $4.7 billion as of April 2016 according to Forbes.

Bernard Broermann was born on November 20, 1943 in Damme, Germany. He took his Master's of Business Administration from Harvard University. While studying, he started Capital Trust for SEC which was a controlled fund with offices in Hamburg, Kiel, Munich, and Berlin. After completing his degree, he sold the company.

It was in 1984 when he had his first hospital which he named as Asklepios. The hospital's name was derived from the name of the Greek God of medicine. Through the years, the hospital developed into a clinic group that hired over 44,000 people in around 140 inpatient facilities worldwide which include China, Russia and California. It also houses approximately 27,000 beds. Today, Asklepios Group is considered as one of Germany's three largest operators of private hospitals.

Four years later, Bernard Broermann founded the Dr. Broer Man Foundation which primarily seeks to promote intervention. In addition to hospitals, Bernard Broermann is also the owner of the five-star luxury spa and hotel, Kempinski Hotel Falkenstein.
