Born in Los Angeles, Mark Geragos is one of the two attorneys who were named as the "Lawyer of the Year" in both criminal defense and civil arenas. For three years in a row, Geragos was named as "One of the 100 Most Influential Attorneys in California" by the California Law Business Magazine.
Geragos was actually one of the lawyers of Michael Jackson when the molestation case was filed against the artist. However, on the early stages of the case, he was dropped by Jackson due to Geragos' busy workload. He was replaced by Thomas Mesereau.
Despite his removal in Michael Jackson's defense team, Mark Geragos was able to prove himself in his chosen career. He has successfully defended artists like Susan McDougal, Greg Anderson, Roger Clinton Jr. (President Clinton's brother), and Lee Tamahori, the James Bond film director. Mark Geragos has also defended artists like Winona Ryder, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Chris Brown, and Nathaniel Hale.
