American TV personality, judge, lawyer, and author Judith Sheindlin has an estimated net worth of $420 million. She appeared on Judge Judy, a successful courtroom series that earned a Daytime Emmy Award since 1996.
Sheindlin was born Judith Susan Blum on October 21, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York. She went to James Madison High School in Brooklyn. After completing her bachelor’s degree from American University, she finished her law degree at New York Law School. When she passed the 1965 New York bar examination, she became a family court system prosecutor. In 1982, she became appointed as a criminal court judge. After four years, she became a supervising family court judge in Manhattan.
Sheindlin's television career started when she was featured in a segment on CBS's 60 Minutes. Her national recognition led to the publication of her first book, Don't Pee on My Leg and Tell Me It's Raining in 1996. She was then approached to star in a new reality courtroom series, featuring "real cases with real rulings", which she accepted. Judge Judy is an arbitration-based court show series produced by CBS and a 3-time Daytime Emmy Award winner.
As of mid-2012, there were reports that she earned $123,000 for every episode of Judge Judy. Her 52-day shooting schedule earns her a total of $45 million annually, making her the highest paid personality on TV in 2012.
