Jeffrey Miron is an American economist who has an estimated net worth of $2.5 million. Born Jeffrey Alan Miron on January 31, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan, he earned his bachelor’s degree in economics in 1979 from Swarthmore College and his Ph.D. in economics in 1984 from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Miron is considered one of America’s respected and trusted experts in economics. He teaches Economics at Harvard University. He is currently a Senior Lecturer and Director of Undergraduate studies at the university. He is also a senior fellow at the Cato Institute. He used to be the Chairman of the Department of Economics at Boston University during the 1990's.

Jeffrey Miron’s field of expertise include the economics of libertarianism and he is an advocate of several libertarian policies such as legalizing all drugs and allowing failing banks to go bankrupt. He has written four books such as Drug War Crimes: The Consequences of Prohibition and Libertarianism, from A to Z.

Miron also has published more than 25 articles in referred journals as well as 50 op-eds in the Boston Herald, Boston Business Journal, Boston Globe, CNN.com and a lot more. He has also made commentary on economic policy which has been features on CNN, CNBC, Bloomberg and Fox Television.

Mr. Miron has been the recipient of an Olin Fellowship from the National Bureau of Economic Research, an Earhart Foundation Fellowship, and a Sloan Foundation Faculty Research Fellowship.
