Indonesian billionaire Peter Sondakh has an estimated net worth of $2.5 billion as of March 2013 according to Forbes. His earnings led him to be the eighth person in Indonesia’s 40 Richest People and 589th in the list of World Billionaires.

Mr. Sondakh has built his estimated net worth of $2.5 billion as the head of Rajawali Group, a conglomerate with business interests in mining, plantations, hotels, and transportation services. In November 2012, the group raised its interests in Indo Mines after it paid $50 million to the firm that trades in Australia. It also supplies iron concentrates to Asian buyers. The firm also paid $100 million for share in toll road operator Nusantra infrastructure.

Rajawali Group also owns a stake in railway consortium Bukit Asam Transpacific Railway. It runs a taxi company called Express which is traded in Indonesia. Peter Sondakh owns St. Regis Bali, the Surfers Paradise resort hotel in Queensland, Australia as well as a home in Beverly Hills.

As a philanthropist, he established the Rajawali Foundation for Asia at Harvard University. It is devoted to provide scholarship across Asia.
