American entrepreneur Wycliffe Grousbeck is the current Chief Executive Officer, governor and co-owner of the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

He was born Wycliffe K. Grousbeck on June 13, 1961. He graduated from Noble and Greenough School and later went to Princeton University where he received a B.A. in History in 1983. He rowed with the undefeated lightweight crew team in 1983 that claimed the Ivy League and national rowing championships. He later earned a law degree from the University of Michigan in 1986 and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1992.

Grousbeck began his professional career with Highland Capital Partners and spent seven years as a partner in the venture capital firm. He then founded the group Boston Basketball Partners LLC along with his father H. Irving Grousbeck. In 2002, the group bought the Boston Celtics for $360 million. By 2008, he led the organization to their seventh NBA Championship.

In 2010, Wycliffe Grousbeck became Chairman of the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, the world’s largest research and clinical hospital specializing in blindness and deafness research. He still continues his duties with the Celtics. He was the co-founded of Causeway Media Partners, a $100 million investment fund specializing in sports media ventures in 2013.
