Renowned Internet entrepreneur Michael G. Rubin has an estimated net worth of $2.3 billion as of August 2016. At 13, Rubin opened his first company, a ski-tuning shop in his parents’ basement. At 23, he founded KPR Sports which dealt on athletic equipment closeouts and purchased 40% of Ryka, a shoe company. He created Global Sports in 1998 which was turned into a multi-billion dollar e-commerce company, GSI Commerce in 1999. In 2011, he sold the company to eBay for $2.4 billion. He then took three GSI assets that eBay did not want to absorb – a leading online retailer of licensed sports merchandise, Fanatics; a leading flash sales website, Rue La La; and the prime competitor of Amazon, ShopRunner, an innovative members-only service to build Kynetic.

Michael G. Rubin is a minority owner of the Philadelphia 76ers. He played a role in the television show Undercover Boss on CBS. He was also mentioned in The New York Times and People Magazine. In 2011, he was named in the “20 Most Powerful CEOs 40 and Under” by Forbes.
