American entrepreneur Travis Kalanick has a net worth of $6.65 billion in July 2017, according to Forbes.

Travis Kalanick started his career when he dropped out of UCLA to form a multimedia search engine, Scour, Inc., and Scour Exchange, a peer-to-peer file sharing service in 1998. Two years later, they filed bankruptcy to protect the company from the lawsuit on alleged copyright infringement.

In 2001, he launched a new company which also the same platform with Scour Exchange, Red Swoosh. Six years later, the said company was acquired by Akamai Technologies for $19 million. Kalanick and Garrett Camp founded a startup company, Uber in 2009 which the ride-sharing mobile application expanded over 66 countries and 507 cities around the world.

Travis Cordell Kalanick was born on August 6, 1976 in Los Angeles, California. He took up computer engineering at University of California, Los Angeles.
