About Tom Oreck

Tom Oreck is an American businessman with a net worth of $65 million. Tom is a graduate of Lawrence University and the owner/president management program at the Harvard Business School. People know him for being one of the owners and family members behind the Oreck Corporation. It was one of the leading manufacturers of vacuum cleaners and home appliances since the 1960s. Tom’s father, David Oreck founded the Oreck Corporation in 1963, and it became one of the leading makers of upright vacuum cleaners for the US hotel industry. Nowadays, the company produces and sells vacuums, floor machines, steam mops, cleaning products and air purifiers for use in both homes and hotels throughout the U.S.A., Canada, and parts of Europe. Tom Oreck is a graduate of Lawrence University and also finished the owner/president management program at the Harvard Business School. He worked in the appliance and consumer products industry for more than 30 years and had recently been working with his family to reacquire the Oreck company after they sold the businesses to Black Diamond Commercial Finance LLC, a private-equity affiliate, in 2003. In 2013, the Oreck family lost the chance to buy back the namesake vacuum-cleaner maker at a bankruptcy auction. Their rival company Royal Appliance Manufacturing acquired it on July 25, 2013.
