Michael Pieper is the president and owner of the Artemis Group and he has an estimated net worth of $3.6 billion as of May 2015 according to Forbes. He is new to the Forbes Billionaires list and he is the ninth richest person in Switzerland as well as the 736th in the list of World Billionaires.

The Artemis Group controls the Franke Group which is based in Aarburg, Switzerland and founded in 1911. It was acquired in 1975 by his father, Will Pieper. The company makes sinks, cooker hoods and cooking appliances. He took control of the manufacturing company in 1988 which he expanded into Eastern Europe, Asia, South and North America, and Africa.

The Artemis Group also owns and manages the Artemis Real Estate Partners, a real estate portfolio based in Switzerland and abroad. Majority of its stakes are in the Feintool Group, a company that specializes in precision cutting and automation technology. Reportedly, it has $2.4 billion in sales in 2011. It has 10,500 employees around the world.

Mr. Pieper has held various positions in several industrial companies in Switzerland and in the USA. He is a member of the board of directors of Forbo Holding Ltd, a flooring and manufacturing company; Rieter, a maker of textile machinery; and Berenberg Bank.
