Joseph Lacob is a partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB) and a majority owner of the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball League (NBA), and has an estimated net worth of $325 million. While growing up in New Bedford, Massachusetts, USA, his favorite team was the Boston Celtics. Joe Lacob began his professional career as a member of the board of directors of Orexigen Therapeutics, a biopharmaceutical company which focused on the development of pharmaceutical product candidates for the treatment of obesity as well as eHealth Inc., an online source of health insurance for individuals, families and small business. He was also an executive with Cetus Corporation, now Chiron, FHP International, a health maintenance organization, and the management consulting firm of Booz, Allen & Hamilton.

Since May 1987, Lacob has been a partner at Kleiner Perkins, a venture capital investment firm. In 2011, he acquired The Golden State Warriors of the NBA and he now serves as the Managing Partner and CEO of the team.
