Huang Maoru is the Chairman of Maoye International Holdings with an estimated net worth of $1 billion as of March 2013. Also called Maoye International or Maoye, it is the leading department store in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China, which is involved in retailing business in Guangdong, Sichuan, Chongqing, and Jiangsu. It was successfully listed in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on May 5, 2008.

With his estimated net worth of $1 billion, Maoru is the richest person in Belize and 1342nd in the world according to Forbes. The shares of Maoye have dropped in value due to the concerns about the fiscal stability in Hong Kong. However, its shares have climbed back since the fall of 2012. Also, it has managed to grow exponentially and the overall sales from various locations have increased by over 50%. In 2011, its stores have brought in $532 million which resulted to a profit of $102 million. This was an 11% increase compared to the previous year.

Maoye International is a major shareholder in China-listed Bohai Logistics. Last year, it has acquired a minority stake in Dashang, a domestically listed retailer. In December 2010, it paid $170 million for a land to build a new commercial complex in Taizhou in Jiangsu Province. Also, it paid $62 million a month earlier for an 80% stake in Zibo Dongtai Building which owns or operates department stores, supermarkets, and a distribution center in the City of Zibo in central Shandong Province.

Maoru’s wife, Huang Jingzhang, is also the co-over of Maoye International who stepped down as Director in 2010. Huang Maoru is the CEO since the company was founded in 1996.
