Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta is a Kenyan politician and the Republic of Kenya's fourth president with a net worth of $500 million. He was the Member of Parliament for Gatundu South from 2002 until 2013. Uhuru is currently a member of the Jubilee Party of Kenya. Before, he became involved with The National Alliance as well as the Kenya African National Union.

Uhuru is the son of Kenya's first president, Jomo Kenyatta and his fourth wife, Mama Ngina Kenyatta. Uhuru got re-elected for his second term in the general election last August 2017. He won 54% of the popular vote. They formally declared the win on national television by Wafula Chebukati the Chairman of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission. However, the election became successfully challenged by his chief competitor, Raila Odinga. Last September 1, 2017, the court declared the election invalid and ordered a new presidential election to take place in the next sixty days. They held the latest presidential election last October 26, and he won. It had a lot of controversies that international media and civil societies criticized and called a "sham election."

Because of Uhuru Kenyatta's presidential election, deadly violence erupted in Kenya. Raila Odinga's supporters took to the streets of Nairobi and Kawangware and burned the shops to the ground. This event injured six people, three of which got their wounds from the machetes. There's an altercation between the police and protesters in western Kenya. Because of that, 86 were under arrest, 13 became injured, and six people got killed. Mr. Odinga eventually withdrew and allowed Uhuru Kenyatta to be the President of Kenya since April 9, 2013.
