Vincent Edward Scully was born on November 29, 1927 in The Bronx, New York, U.S. In 1982, the National Baseball Hall of Fame gave him the Ford Frick Award. As a sportscaster, Vin Scully is a recipient of the Life Achievement Emmy Award. In 1995, he was elected into the National Radio Hall of Fame.  In one episode of Prime 9 which is aired on the MLB Network, Scully was ranked as #1 on the list of nine greatest baseball broadcasters of all-time. In 2009, he was elected into the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame. Scully was also named by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association as the National Sportscaster of the Year in 1982, 1978 and 1965.
