Born to parents of Haitian and South African descent, Sal Masekela is a famous actor, singer, TV host and sports commentator. Starting as an NBA sideline reporter, Sal Masekela became a co-host of The Daily 10 then he became the host of Winter X Games and X Games on ESPN. In 2010, he became ESPN's correspondent during the 2010 FIFA World Cup held in South Africa.

Apart from being a TV personality, Sal Masekela co-founded the Berkela Motion Pictures and Stoked Mentoring. Stoked Mentoring is an organization that aims to help at-risk youth through sports. He also supports other organizations such as Life Rolls On and Surfrider Foundation.
