American judge and television perosnality, Joseph "Joe" Brown, has an estimated net worth of $25 million with annual earnings of $5 million.
Brown became the first African-American prosecutor in the city of Memphis. He is the host of a court show Judge Joe Brown, which premiered on September 14, 1998. He gained national attention when he served as the judge presiding over the appeal of the man accused of murdering Martin Luther King, Jr., but was ultimately replaced by another judge.
The producers of the show Judge Judy approached him in 1998, and the show Judge Joe Brown was launched. He has had a number of celebrities appear on his show, including Coolio and Rick James. The show was cancelled in 2013 after Brown and CBS were unable to agree on a salary arrangement.
Brown graduated at the top of his class at Dorsey High School, then earned a bachelor's degree in political science and in 1973 a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree at UCLA. While attending law school, Brown worked as a substitute teacher.
