Emily Maynard is an American Children's Hospital event planner and reality television personality who has an estimated net worth of $5 million. A native of Morgantown, West Virginia, she became popular when her fiancé, race car driver, Ricky Hendricks, died in a plane crash in 2004. One week after the death of Ricky, Emily Maynard discovered she was pregnant. She gave birth to Ricky's daughter, Josephine Riddick "Ricki" Hendrick, who was named after her husband.

In 2012, Maynard began competing on the 15th season of The Bachelor, which premiered on May 14, 2012. She became the winner as she was chosen by Brad Womack but the relationship ended due to long distance. She also appeared on the eighth season of The Bachelorette, which made her the second Bachelor winner to star in the show. She again tried to find love, but this time, with a series of male contestants from which she can choose. She became one of the three Bachelor winners chosen in the lead of the series. The first one was Jen Schefft of season three while the other one was Becca Kufrin in the fourteenth season. When the show concluded on July 23, 2012, Jef Holm was named the winner and became her fiance. However, in October of the same year, the two abruptly ended their relationship.
