David H. Faber was born on March 10, 1964. He was born to businesswoman Bell B. Faber and lawyer, Norman L. Faber.  Faber attended Tufts University where he completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in English as cum laude. Since 2000, David Faber has been married to Jenny Harris, a TV producer and business journalist.

After working at Institutional Investor for seven years, Faber joined CNBC where he was dubbed by his co-workers as "The Brain". He has already hosted several documentaries which include The Age of Walmart and Wal-Mart and eBay; the Wal-Mart piece. Currently, David Faber is hosting the Business Nation which had its debut on January 24, 2007.
