Tia Carrere is an US actress, model, voice-over artist and singer by profession. As of March 2012, her estimated net worth stands at $18 Million. She was born in 1967 in Honolulu in Hawaii, USA.

Tia is the daughter of Filipino parents. She however identifies herself as being a descendant of Chinese, Spanish and Filipino who was born and brought up in Hawaii. She always wanted to become a singer, even though she lost right in the first round of a contest - “Star Search”. One day as she was shopping at a grocery store, she was spotted by a local producer who cast her in the movie “Aloha Summer”. Seeing the initial success, Tia worked as a model in Los Angeles for many months after which she got her first TV break with the show Airwolf. Tia’s obligation with the TV show “General Hospital”, made her schedule extremely tight as a result of which she had to decline some of the other fulltime offers at that time, like the show “A-Team”, which incidentally became very popular too. She declined a role in Baywatch as well.

Tia is a trained singer. She sang in two films of her own. In 2009, she won a Grammy Award for the album “Ikena”. In 2011, Tia won the Grammy for the second time for her music album “Huana Ke Aloha” for the best Hawaiian music album.

In 1992, Tia’s name was included in the list of “50 most beautiful people” by the People Magazine. She got married and divorced twice and has her daughter Bianca who was born in 2010.
