Slipknot is a very successful American heavy metal band from Iowa. The net worth of Slipknot currently stands at $20 million. The band was formed in 1995 by its founders Paul Gray, who plays the bass, and Shawn Crahan, the percussionist. There were multiple line-up changes in the band in its early days. The band is consist of nine members which include Paul Gray, Sid Wilson, Chris Fehn, Craig Jones, Jim Root, Shawn Crahan, Corey Taylor, Joey Jordison and Mick Thomson. Paul Gray, the band's bassist, died in May 2010, leaving the band with just eight members remaining.

Slipknot has gained its massive popularity and world fame for its attention-grabbing masks, strong aggressive musical style, and their chaotic live shows. The rise of Slipknot began with their "Slipknot" album in 1999. The 2001 release of their album Iowa further rocketed the band's already hugely increasing fame. Their 2008 album "All Hope is Gone" featured a considerable alteration in the band's style. The album debuted at the highest ranking on the Billboard 200, a list of the 200 highest selling albums and EPs in the US.
