Tessanne Chin jumpstarted her career as a singer when she joined a band called Mile High upon her return to Jamaica. She became the back-up singer of Jimmy Cliff for three years.

When she decided to launch her solo career, Chin released her first album, In Between Words in 2011. She collaborated with fellow Jamaican artists such as Shaggy, and Protoje.

In 2013, Chin tried her luck in joining The Voice Season 5. All the coaches turned their chair on her and chose to be mentored by Adam Levine. When she won the title, she debuted her U.S. single, Tumbling Down.

Chin was hailed by the Carribean Journal as 2013 Artist of the Year. Her major label debut will be release on May 27, 2014.
