Australian singer and song writer Sia Furler, better known as Sia, was born Sia Kate Isobelle Furler on December 18, 1975 in Adelaide, South Australia. Sia Furler has an estimated net worth of $20 million.

Her father, Phil B. Colson, was a musician to a number of bands such as Foreday Riders, Rum Jungle, Fat Time, Jump Back Jack, and Mount Lofty Rangers. Her mother, Loene Furler, is a singer, songwriter, musician, and art lecturer while she also provided backing vocals for Mount Lofty Rangers. Her parents were both part of an Adelaide rockabilly band The Soda Jerx. She attended the North Adelaide Primary School. She went to Adelaide High School.

Born and raised in a musically inclined family, Sia had mimicked several singers while growing up. Her early influences include Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and Sting. She also attended a school in Italy and while spending her days there, she sang in a karaoke bar. Because of her unique voice, she was offered by a local DJ who happened to be in the bar a chance to record a song.

In the early 1990s, Sia Furler started her gigs in Adelaide. Her genre included downtempo, pop and jazz. At 17, she joined the jazz funk band The Crisp and they released the two albums Word and the Deal (1996) and Delerium (1997). She left the band in 1997 and released her debut solo album OnlySee. By 2000, she signed a recording contact with Dance Pool, a Sony Music sub-label. Her single Taken for Granted was a top hit in the UK. Her 2008 album Some People Have Real Problems peaked in the top 30 in the Billboard 200. She won the Best Music DVD award at the ARIA Music Awards of 2008. She has received six nominations at the ARIA Music Awards of 2010. She won Best Independent Release and Best Pop Release for We Are Born and Best Video for the song Clap Your Hands.

As a performer, Furler has collaborated and performed with Zero 7 and Christina Aguilera. Recently, she has worked with Hilltop Hoods, David Guetta, Flo Rida, Afrojack, Shakira and Rihanna. She collaborated on Billboard Hot 100 top ten hits Titanium with DJ David Guetta and Wild Ones with rapper Flo Rida that both achieved international success.
