Naomi Judd is a talented country music singer and songwriter with an estimated net worth of $25 million. Her net worth was accumulated through her successful music career. She has also put tremendous effort as an activist for Hepatitis C awareness and treatment through her foundation, The Naomi Judd Education and Research Fund.
Born Diana Ellen Judd on January 11, 1946 in Ashland, Kentucky, she became a mother to Christina Ciminella (later Wynonna Judd) at the age of 18. She has a second daughter, named Ashley Judd. When her marriage to Michael Ciminella ended, she brought up the two as a single parent. She then attended nursing school at the College of Marin, in California, and later, she formed country music mother-daughter duo known as "The Judds" with daughter Wynonna. This successful singing duo has gone into history as being the most famous mother-daughter singing team. They have had twenty top-10 hit songs and five Grammy awards, among many other awards.
Naomi also won a Grammy award as a songwriter for the Judd's popular hit Love Can Build a Bridge. The group's reign, however, came to an end in 1991 after Naomi was diagnosed with Hepatitis C. This forced her to retirement but only after a very successful farewell tour. She then created the Naomi Judd Education and Research Fund in 1991 to raise awareness of Hepatitis C, and uses the strength of her own experiences as spokesperson for the American Liver Foundation.
