Michelle Williams’ net worth is valued at $8 million. Born Tenitra Michelle Williams in Rockford Illinois, she began as a choir singer in her local church and had to leave college early to be a backup singer for R&B singer-songwriter, Monica. Williams met Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Beyonce Knowles while on tour in 1999 and joined the R&B female group the following year.

Michelle was introduced to the group together with Farrah Franklin as replacements for LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson. However, Franklin was dismissed in 2000 leaving the R&B female group a trio. Williams made it to the recording of Destiny’s Child’s third album, Survivor, which spawned chart-toppers like “Survivor”, “Emotion”, “Independent Women”, and “Bootylicious”. The album topped the Billboard 200, with over 663,000 copies sold on its first week, and eventually earned the 4x Platinum record certification from the RIAA.

After Destiny’s Child went on hiatus, Michelle released “Heart to Yours”, which was her debut solo album. She also appeared on the Broadway musical “Aida” and returned to Destiny’s Child for the “Destiny Fulfilled” recording and tour. She went on to work on her second gospel album “Do You Know”, and returned to pop with her third album “Unexpected”. Williams is now working on her fourth album, while working on productions of “The Color Purple” and “Chicago” in the United States and United Kingdom.
