Matt Cardle is an English songwriter and recording artist best recognized as the winner of the show The X Factor on its seventh season. For winning the show, Syco Music granted Cardle with £1 million worth of recording contract. Eventually, he was signed by Columbia Records. When Columbia Records and Matt Cardle parted ways, the latter was signed by So What Recordings.
Matthew Sheridan "Matt" Cardle was born on April 15, 1983 in Southampton, Hampshire, England. He was a part of the bands, Seven Summers, and Darwyn. After winning The X Factor, his winning single, "When We Collide", became his debut single which debuted at #1 on Irish and UK Singles Charts. Also, it emerged as 2010's second biggest-selling single. Within two weeks, it sold more than 850,000 copies.
His follow-up single "Run for Your Life" peaked at #6 on UK Singles Chart. In 2011, his debut album titled "Letters" was released and it debuted at # 2 on Irish and UK Albums charts.
Under So What Recordings, his second studio album titled The Fire was released in 2012, and it peaked at #8 on UK Albums Chart. On October 28, 2013, Matt Cardle is scheduled to release his third studio album which is titled Porcelain.
