Lee DeWyze is the winner of the ninth season of American Idol whose net worth is currently around $50 thousand.

DeWyze was born in Mount Prospect, Illinois. He was expelled from high school and worked as a paint salesman until his audition for American Idol. During this period, he also began his music career recording two albums. The first was entitled So I'm Told and was released in 2007 and the second was entitled Slumberland and was released in 2010. His music featured radio play on WXRT, a Chicago radio station. He was also featured on Chicago Huddle, a local television sports program during the 2008 and 2009 seasons and acted in a 2006 short film Deadscapes: Broken Road.

After winning the ninth season of Amercan Idol, he was signed to 19 Entertainment and RCA Records releasing Live It Up on November 16, 2010. It has since sold over 151,000 albums. He has also released What Once Was in 2012 and with Frames scheduled to released on August 20, 2013.
