Lauryn Hill was born on May 26, 1975 in South Orange, New Jersey, USA. Coming from a music-oriented family, Hill grew up listening to the hits of Stevie Wonder, Curtis Mayfield, Gladys Knight and Aretha Franklin. Eventually, she met Pras Michel who suggested about forming a band. Shortly, they were joined by Michel’s cousin, Wyclef Jean. The band was named Fugees and eventually, they released their first album titled Blunted on Reality (1994). Their second album, The Score, was a Grammy winner. The album sold more than six million copies in United States alone.
As an actress, Hill has appeared on films like As the World Turns, Here and Now, King of the Hill, Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit, ABC Afterschool Specials, Restaurant and Hav Plenty.
