A native of Hannah, SC, deep-voiced Josh Turner burst onto the country scene in 2003 with the powerful "Long Black Train," a song Turner had written after listening to a Hank Williams box set. His first album, Long Black Train, produced by Frank Rogers, was released by MCA in 2003. Prior to the album release, Turner had issued two 7" vinyl singles, "She'll Go on You" and "Long Black Train," both backed with the same B-side, "Backwoods Boy." A second album on MCA, Your Man, was released in 2006 and reached number two on the Top 200. The impressive Everything Is Fine appeared in 2007, again from MCA Nashville. Turner issued the 2010 release of his fourth album Haywire, with its first two singles as its opening cuts: "Why Don't We Just Dance" and "I Wouldn't Be a Man."

Josh Turner met his wife Jennifer in 2003 at a classical training vocal program. His wife travels with Josh when he's on tour, playing keyboards and singing background vocals. They have three children.
