Born as Michael Eugene Archer on February 11, 1974 in Richmond Virginia, D’Angelo is an American multi-instrumentalist, neo soul singer-songwriter, record producer and R&B singer with an estimated net worth of $2 million in 2012.

In 1991, his music career started when he was signed by the EMI records. In June 1995, his first album, Brown Sugar, was released. Though the sales didn’t do well at first, it became a hit later on due to his single “Lady” which peaked at #10 on Billboard Hot 100.

For the next 4 ½ years, D’Angelo took a break from the industry and decided to work on solo. He is the man behind the success of many singles like Belly; Girl, You Need a Change of Mind, She's Always in My Hair and Heaven Must be Like This.

His second album, Voodoo, was released in 2000. The album was a complete success. It debuted on the #1 spot and it earned two Grammy Awards for the Best Male R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B Album categories. D’Angelo is currently busy with his scheduled concerts across Europe.
