Carly Simon is a musician, singer-songwriter whose net worth is $65 million. Born in New York, she has also written very successful children’s books and became a household name in the 1970’s with her hit songs that include "Nobody Does It Better", "You’re So Vain" and "That's the Way I've Always Heard it Should Be".

She developed an interest in performing as a child and she and her two sisters even performed together at first. The group broke up when her oldest sister moved onto become a professional opera mezzo-soprano but Carly and her older sister formed the duo The Simon Sisters and got a contract in 1963 with Kapp Records. The duo broke up when her sister got married.

In the 1980’s, Carly started writing children’s books with the first, Amy The Dancing Bear, being released in 1989. Her soundtrack work continued throughout the 90’s with her songs being used in a number of films including Mike Nichols' Postcards from the Edge released in 1990, Nora Ephron’s This Is My Life released in 1992 and Primary Colors released in 1998.
