Björk is an Icelandic singer, songwriter, music producer, and occasional actress with an estimated $45 million.

She was born Björk Guðmundsdóttir on November 21, 1965 in Reykjavík, Iceland. Since she was young, she has displayed interest towards the natural sciences and physics, her idols growing up were Albert Einstein and David Attenborough. Her musical career began when she was 11; one of her teachers recorded her singing at a school part and sent the tape to Radio One, an Icelandic radio station, thus propelling her to overnight fame.

She's renowned for her expressive and potent voice, as well as for her innovative compositions mixing together different genres. Her record Biophilia is the first and only album in history published in the App-Album format, which is comprised of an eBook with interactive 3D objcts, movies, animations and diagrams based on real scientific data, with images from NASA, the European Space Agency and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency.

According to her record company, One Little Indian, Björk has sold over 15 million albums. She was also nominated to the Oscar for Best Song for the movie Dancer in the Dark, directed by Lars Von Trier, in which she played the leading role. The movie later debuted into the Cannes film festival and took the prize for Best Movie while Björk won the Palm D'Or for Best Actress.
