About Andy Summers
Aside from being a multi-instrumentalist, Andy Summers is an English musician that serves as the guitarist for the band, The Police. The rock band has released 12 solo albums.
Born as Andrew James Summers, Andy Summers was raised in Bournemouth, Dorset where he learned playing piano and guitar. Her music career started in the 1960s when he played as the guitarist for the Zoot Money’s Big Roll Band which turned into Dantalian’s Chariot band later on. After the disbandment of the group, he joined the The Soft Machine for a period of 6 months. In 1968, he joined the The Animals and the group released the album titled Love Is.
After sometime, he returned to London and performed with other artists like Kevin Coyne, Kevin Ayers, Jon Lord, Neil Sedaka and Tim Essex. Andy Summer’s career rose to fame when he joined The Police in 1977 until 1984. Hit songs such as “Message in a Bottle”, “Every Breath You Take”, “Roxanne”, “Every Little Thing She Does is Magic” and “Don’t Stand So Close to Me”. While working with the band, Andy Summers has earned two Grammy Awards for Best Rock Instrumental Performance.
