Best known as Freddie Krueger, a fictional serial killer in the film series Nightmare On Elm Street, Robert Englund is a Saturn Award-nominee for best actor for A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master and A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. 

His role as Freddie Krueger catapulted him into international fame which earned him a role in The Mangler, 2001 Maniacs and The Phantom of the Opera. Freddie Krueger is actually a psychotic burn victim and a child murderer at the same time. Throughout his entire acting career, Robert Englund is known to play horror characters.

Born Robert Barton Englund on June 6, 1947 in Glendale, California, he began studying at the age of twelve while accompanying a friend to a children's theater program at California State University, Northridge. During his high school, he attended the Cranbrook Theatre School (organized by the Cranbrook Educational Community) in Bloomfield Hills. He then attended UCLA for three years before dropping out. He transferred to Michigan's Oakland University, where he trained at the Meadow Brook Theater, a branch of Royal Academy of Dramatic Art at that time. He spend five successful years performing in regional theater, including plays by Shakespeare and George Bernard Shaw.

Robert Englund has been married for three times but he never had a child of his own. He has an estimated net worthworth $16 million.
