In 1997, Negreanu began making a name for himself when he won two events at the World Poker Finals at the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. With his newfound confidence, Negreanu began a successful career as a professional poker player.

Thus far in his career, Negreanu has won five World Series of Poker and two World Poker Tour championships. His career success has garnered him multiple awards and accolades as one of the best poker players in the world.
