Richard Marx is an American adult pop singer and songwriter, born on September 16, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois. His net worth is estimated to be around $18 million. In the 1980s and 1990s, he released a series of hit singles that topped the music charts. Born to a one-time singer named Ruth, and a jazz star named Dick Marx, Richard grew up in a musical atmosphere. By the age of five, Richard Marx was already singing jingles on radio and TV which his father wrote. At the age of seventeen, he relocated to Los Angeles where he met Lionel Richie who helped him with his first album recording. In 1987, he released his debut album which sold over four million copies in the US alone. Over the years, he has produced and released several singles and albums with his world record sales exceeding 30 million copies.
