Ray Davies is an English musician. He has an estimated net worth of $12 million.

Davies is known as the songwriter, singer and musician who performs with the band “The Kinks”. He has earned his wealth mostly from his career in music. His younger brother Dave was also a part of the band, The Kinks, which obtained a recording contract in 1964. He became the chief songwriter for the band after the success with his early composition “You Really Got Me”. Davies was the reason behind the band’s commercial success. The Kinks got separated in 1996 and he then started his solo career as a songwriter and singer where he also succeeded.

He has also acted, directed, and produced several shows in theater and television. Ray has received several awards in his career. He received the CBE from Queen Elizabeth II for “Services to Music”; and won the Mojo Songwriter Award, among others. He was a judge for the third annual Independent Music Awards. He was even named a Commander of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth.

Ray was born on June 21, 1944 in Fortis Green, London. He has seven siblings, which include six sisters and a younger brother, Dave. He went to the William Grimshaw Secondary Modern School. He was an art student at the Hornsey College of Art.

In 1973, Ray attempted suicide following the breakup of his marriage. Davies has been married three times and has four daughters – Louisa, Victoria, Natalie and Eva. He was romantically involved with Chrissie Hynde.
