About The Game

Jayceon Terrell Taylor, known professionally as The Game has an estimated net worth of $25 million. His stage name was actually coined by his mother who said that his name fits him because he is just game for anything.

Taylor was born in Los Angeles California on November 29, 1979. He claimed that he was born to a family of ‘dysfunctional’, surrounded by drugs, hustling, gang-wars and guns. At such a very young age, he has been involved in a couple of troubles in the neighborhood. In 2002, The Game and his brother, Big Fase, released their first mixtape You Know What It Is Vol. 1. This earned him a record deal with Get Low Recordz, an independent label owned by JT the Bigga Figga. In 2003, he was signed by Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment label. Under Dr. Dre, he got the chance to work with G-Unit and 50 Cent. Eventually, he had cameo appearances in the music videos for Lloyd Banks, 50 Cent, Fabolous and Young Buck.

Later on, he decided to focus more of his attention to music and by 2003, he signed his first recording contract with 50 Cent’s G-Unit record label. Eventually, he left the company to launch Black Wall Street Records, his own record label.

His debut album titled “The Documentary”, instantly became a major hit. In fact, the album opened at #1 on Billboard 200. The album also spawned the single “Hate It or Love It” which earned him two Grammy nominations.

His mainstream success started in 2005 and 2006, during which, he was able to release two albums titled, Documentary and Doctor’s Advocate, respectively. In 2006, his album Doctor’s Advocate was named as the best hip hop album by the New York Times. Two years later, his third album titled LAX was released. Meanwhile, his fourth album came in as a success after debuting at #1 on the Billboard 200. As of September 2011, The Game has already started working on his fifth album titled Jesus Piece.

The Game was previously engaged to model and actress, Valeisha Butterfield. They were scheduled to marry in March 2007 but their engagement was called off in June 2006. He has a daughter and two sons.
