Talib Kweli Greene was born on October 3, 1975, in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, U.S. He debuted into the music industry in 1995. Since 2009, he has been married to DJ Eque. He has two children with Darcel Turner named Diani Eshe and Amani Fela Greene.

As a solo artist, Talib Kweli has released five albums, which include Reflection Eternal (Train of Thought - DJ Hi-Tek) (2000),  Quality (2002), The Beautiful Struggle (2004), Eardrum (2007),  and Gutter Rainbows (2011).  In 2013, his sixth album titled Prisoner of Conscious was released. In 2014, he is expected to release his next album Gravitas.

Collaborating with other rappers and performers, Talib Kweli has released a total of four albums titled Mos Def & Talib Kweli as Black Star, Train of Thought, Revolutions Per Minute, and Habits of the Heart.
