Kurtis Blow is an American rapper and producer who has an estimated net worth of $5 million.

In 1979, he became the first commercially accomplished rapper to sign with a big record label, Mercury, which produced “Christmas Rappin.” He released the second album "The Breaks" in 1980 which sold more than 500,000 copies. He was the first rapper to ever perform overseas. After the second album, Kurtis Blow released ten albums within eleven years. The song "If I Ruled the World" from his 1985 album featured on the Top 5 hit of the Billboard's chart. Kurtis has participated in music coordination and acting performances in many films such as the Knights of the City by Leon Kennedy and a hip-hop film known as the Krush Groove. He is the host and co-producer for the Das Leben Amerikanischer Gangs, a film which focuses on the West Coast gangs. Kurtis is a committed Christian, licensed minister, worship leader and teaches ministry at the Nyack College. He was born on August 9, 1959.
