Born Bernard Freeman on March 19, 1973, Bun B is one of the most well known American rappers with a net worth of $2.5 million. He was also one half of UGK, a southern rap duo. He is also recognized at Rice University located in Houston where he is a guest lecturer. His Trill OG solo album, which was released on August 3, 2010, received credit rating of five mic “Classic”, a Source Magazine feature. Apparently, it is the very first album in over five years to be credited with such an honor.
Somewhere in late 1980s, Pimp C who first released a demo tape, “Underground King” in which Bun B was not featured, created and led the rap duo Underground Kingz (UGK). Bun B’s lecturing career at Rice University began in 2001 where he taught the School of Humanities a course on Hip Hop and Religion. He is married to Angela Walls with whom he has two stepchildren. Young B, one of his sons and a well recognized American rapper, currently belongs to the rap group, Youngest N Change.
