40-year old Beenie man (real name: Anthony Moses Davis) was born in Kingston, Jamaica and was involved in music from a tender age, as early as the age of five. However, it was only in 1981 when he gained recognition when Barry G, a Jamaican Radio DJ , introduced the young Beenie to the local sound system operator. From there he established his name as one of the finest young DJs in Jamaica, using the stage name Beenie Man.

Beenie’s debut single, titled “Too Fancy", was produced in 1981 by renowned producer Henry Lawes and to date he has 22 studio albums to his name. During the 2000 Grammy awards , the Jamaican artiste won an award for Best Reggae Album titled "Art and Life", and a number of his songs have been ranked among the top 100 hits on the US & UK charts.
