About Paula Wagner
Paula Wagner is an American film producer and executive. She was born Paula Sue Kauffman on December 12, 1946 in Youngstown, Ohio. Her mother was a news magazine editor while her father was a business owner. She attended the Drama department at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Wagner began her career with the Youngstown Playhouse before he went to college. She left Carnegie Mellon and moved to New York to pursue her acting career. She went back to college and graduated Summa Cum Laude. When she went back to New York, she married Robin Wagner, a Broadway set designer.
Paula and Robin divorced and she went Los Angeles to become an agent for CAA and handled Tom Cruise. She met Rick Nicita and the two got married. While working at CAA, she and Cruise formed C/W productions and produced the international hit Mission: Impossible.
Wagner is the co-owner of United Artists Entertainment, LCC along with Cruise and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. She also works as a film producer and studio executive as well as developing films, theater and television with her production company Chestnut Ridge Productions (CRP). Currently, she sits on the National Board of Directors for the Producers Guild of America.
