Berry was one of the three founders of the Virgin record label, with Richard Branson. When it was sold to Thorn EMI, Berry stayed on to run the company. The 1992 sale of the Virgin music business, for £560m, netted Berry about £25m. He left EMI in 2001 with a £6m package for loss of office after earning £3m a year. He currently has an estimated net worth of $52.5 million.
