David Crane is an American writer and television producer who has an estimated net worth of $400 million. He is widely recognized as the other half of the team that created the legendary television sitcom Friends. Along with Marta Kauffman, Crane wrote and produced the show. His latest work involved working on another sitcom for BBC along with the producer of sitcom Mad About You in the series called Episodes.

Crane is the son of veteran news anchor Gene Crane and he was born in Philadelphia where he attended Harrington High School. From his school days itself, Crane took a keen interest in plays. He eventually studied Theatre in Brandeis University in which he got his bachelors’ degree as well. Right after his graduation, Crane started working in the American television industry, when he decided to team up with longtime friend Marta Kauffman. Together, they conceptualized Friends. Much of his net worth was acquired during the ten-year stint when Friends was being aired.
