Patricia Cornwell is the pen name of American crime writer who has an estimated net worth of $25 million. Patricia Carroll Daniels was born on June 9, 1956 in Miami, Florida. She is a bright student, a capable cartoonist and a talented tennis player. She also have the writing skills, which was noticed by Ruth Bell Graham, who encouraged her literary efforts. She went to King College in Bristol, Tennessee, but later transferred to Davidson College where she graduated in 1979 with a B.A. in English. Soon after graduation she got married to her English professor Charles L. Cornwell. However, the marriage didn't last and  a few years later, they got divorced. She then have an affair with Margo Bennett and later married Staci Ann Gruber.

In 1979, Cornwell worked at The Charlotte Observer as a reporter, and soon after this, she started covering crime. Over 100 million her books have been sold. Her famous novel is about Dr. Kay Scarpetta who is a medical examiner. This novel has details of forensic science, which was inspired by a series of sensational murders in Richmond, Virginia, where most of the stories are set. Her other famous work is the biography of Graham, A Time for Remembering: The Ruth Bell Graham Story (which was renamed Ruth, A Portrait: The Story of Ruth Bell Graham in subsequent editions).
