Taylor Hawkins is an American musician with an estimated net worth of $20 million. He is best known as the drummer of the rock band Foo Fighters since 1997.

Oliver Taylor Hawkins was born on February 17, 1972 in Fort Worth, Texas and grew up in Laguna Beach, California. He went to Thurston Jr. High School and later to Laguna Beach High School. He served as the drummer in a progressive experimental band called Sylvia, later known as ANYONE. He left the band and joined as the drummer for Sass Jordan. He eventually became the touring drummer for Alanis Morissette on her Jagged Little Pill and Can’t Not tours. He also appeared in her music videos You Oughta Know and You Learn.

In 1997, Hawkins was introduced to Foo Fighter’s David Grohl by his cousin Kevin Harrell. He made his debut in time for the release of the album The Colour and the Shape. He formed his own side project called Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders in 2004, serving as the drummer and also singing. In 2005, he was voted “Best Rock Drummer” by the UK drumming magazine Rhythm.

Hawkins claims that his biggest influences are Stewart Copeland of The Police, Roger Taylor of Queen and Neil Peart of Rush. Aside from being a drummer, he is also an accomplished rock singer, guitarist and pianist. He did a cover of Pink Floyd’s Have a Cigar. He also sang lead vocals on the original Cold Day in the Sun from In Your Honor and the cover of Cream’s I Feel Free and on the EP Five Songs and a Cover.
